Teaching
I teach the Introduction to Anthropology course for non-majors. I enjoy sharing anthropology with students from many different majors and backgrounds. I believe that anthropology is for everyone because it is about just that – all of us humans and everything to do with humankind. Anthropologists are unique in the holistic approach they take to studying people and the way we collaborate with many other disciplines.
Interests
My interests are in collections management and the way people share their heritage. I have worked in museum collections in Texas and in Australia, studying contemporary Native American and Aboriginal Australian cultures and collaborating with them to display their heritage and material culture on their own terms. I enjoy incorporating these professional experiences into my class and showing students how anthropology can be relevant in many different aspects of their lives.
