JohnMark Kempthorne

JohnMark received his PhD in Psychology from Victoria University of Wellington in 2025. His research focuses on utilizing causal inference methods and longitudinal data to address questions in health and psychology. His doctoral thesis explored the effects of empowerment, social belonging, spirituality, and exercise on well-being outcomes, and it also included a natural experiment to analyze the effects on prejudicial attitudes during the Covid-19 pandemic. His current work uses longitudinal data from Fiji to examine how religiosity influences cooperation, health, and well-being.
